The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) offers funding for supports and services that assist people with permanent and significant disabilities to live independently and work toward their goals. It is funded by the Australian Government and managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
The NDIS provides support for individuals with permanent impairments — whether intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, physical, or psychosocial. Eligibility is determined by how the disability affects a person’s daily activities and the level of support they require.
To qualify for NDIS services, individuals must have a permanent and significant disability that impacts their capacity to carry out everyday activities.
